Accessibility Statement

LaunchLocal is committed to making our website usable for everyone, including people with disabilities. This statement describes our current accessibility status, the standard we measure against, how to contact us if you encounter a barrier, and what to expect when you do.

Conformance Target

We target Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the standard most commonly referenced under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for commercial websites in the United States.

Current Status

LaunchLocal is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the standard. We are actively working to identify and remediate issues, and we re-evaluate the site as we ship changes.

The most recent third-party-style automated accessibility audit using axe-core was completed in May 2026, covering homepage, collection, product, blog, and checkout templates. Critical and serious violations identified by that audit have been or are being remediated.

Known Limitations

The following items may still present barriers. We are tracking each one for remediation:

  • Some product images may use generic or templated alt text rather than image-specific descriptions. We are reviewing alt attributes across the catalog.
  • Color contrast may fall below 4.5:1 in a small number of secondary UI elements. We have an open task to audit and adjust.
  • Embedded third-party widgets (such as reviews modules) are styled and structured by their vendors, and may not always match our accessibility targets. We choose vendors that publish their own conformance statements and we re-evaluate periodically.
  • Videos hosted in product pages may not yet have synchronized captions on every clip.

Assessment Approach

We assess accessibility through a combination of:

  • Automated testing using axe-core and Google Lighthouse on a representative sample of pages
  • Manual testing of critical flows (search, add to cart, checkout) using keyboard-only navigation
  • Ongoing review of customer feedback received through our contact channels

We do not currently engage an external accessibility consultancy on a recurring basis. If you would like to recommend one or report a finding from your own audit, please use the contact information above.

Compatibility

This site is designed to work with current versions of:

  • Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge browsers on desktop and mobile
  • iOS VoiceOver and Android TalkBack screen readers
  • NVDA and JAWS screen readers on Windows
  • Keyboard-only navigation

Older browsers (Internet Explorer, Chrome <90) may experience degraded accessibility.

Formal Complaints

If you have contacted us using the channels above and are not satisfied with our response, you may file a complaint with the U.S. Department of Justice Civil Rights Division. We hope to resolve any concern before that step becomes necessary.


This statement was last reviewed and updated on 2026-05-21. It is reviewed at least every 12 months and any time the site undergoes a major redesign or platform change.
