State licensing board

Electricians in Delaware must be licensed through the Delaware Board of Electrical Examiners (under DPR), with license classes including Journeyman Electrician and Master Electrician, the latter being required to pull permits and operate an electrical contracting business. Plumbers are licensed through the Delaware Board of Plumbing Examiners, also under DPR, with Journeyman and Master Plumber designations. HVAC contractors are licensed through the Delaware Board of Plumbing, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Examiners. General contractors (GCs) do not require a statewide license in Delaware; instead, registration and licensing requirements are enforced at the county level (e.g., New Castle, Kent, and Sussex Counties each have their own requirements). All contractors performing work in Delaware must also register with the Delaware Division of Revenue as a business operating in the state.
