Tier 2 hero · Admin tool, not a permit substitute

The paperwork around a PV plus EVSE install. Done once, used every job.

The administrative work of a residential solar or EV install: customer intake, scope-of-work, interconnect packet, AHJ submittal checklist by state. For licensed contractors who do their own permitting and want to cut admin time per job from 4 hours to 30 minutes.

What's inside

  • Customer intake form covering site survey, load history, panel age, roof age, and EVSE location
  • Scope of work template for residential PV (3kW to 15kW) and EVSE (Level 2)
  • Interconnect packet template with utility-form mapping for 12 major utilities
  • AHJ submittal checklist split by state (TX, CA, AZ, FL, NC, GA, plus 14 more)
  • Customer billing letter templates: deposit, milestone, final, change order
  • Project tracker for multi-job pipeline view

What this kit is NOT

This is an administrative organizer. Not a permit substitute. It does not generate stamped one-line diagrams. It does not replace a licensed PE review where your AHJ requires one. It does not run a NEC 220 load calc (use the $19 NEC 220 Calculator for that). It is the paperwork around a permit, not the permit itself.

Who this is for

  • Licensed solar or electrical contractors doing 2 to 30 residential PV or EVSE installs per month
  • Operators currently spending $200 to $800 per job on a plan-review service for administrative work
  • Shops who want a consistent customer experience across multiple installers

Who this isn't for

  • Anyone looking for a permit shortcut
  • Unlicensed handymen doing electrical work (don't)
  • Commercial / utility-scale solar shops (different paperwork entirely)

How it stacks up

Plan-review service$200 to $800 per job. Faster on the engineering side. Slower on customer comms.
PV consultant retainer$2,500 to $5,000 per month. Worth it at 50 plus installs per month.
This$97 one time. Cuts admin per job from 4 hours to 30 minutes.

FAQ

Does this include a one-line diagram?
No. The kit is administrative paperwork only. For one-lines and stamped engineering drawings, hire a PE or use a plan-review service like GreenLancer.
Does the interconnect packet work with my utility?
It includes form mapping for 12 major utilities (PG&E, SCE, SRP, APS, Duke, Georgia Power, FPL, TVA, ConEd, NSTAR, Xcel, ComEd). For others, the template structure works but you may need to copy fields manually.
Updated for NEC 2026?
Yes. The 705.12(B)(3) check and EVSE 625.42 references reflect the 2026 edition.
